FAQ
General
Why has cannabis/ hemp been so popular?
- The crop is easy to grow organically without using chemicals and is very pest resistant.
- It is also low risk due to the fact that the plant is easy to grow.
- It gives high profit per hectare to farmers because they can profit from the whole plant and the seeds.
- It can replace fish oil as the plant is very rich in Omega 3 and contains the optimal 1:3 ratio of omega 3 to 6.
- There is a large population of people who believe it can have a relaxation effect. Therefore, it is popular for recreational use.
- There are also a lot of people claiming that the plant helps relieve different symptoms.
How do I take CBD oil?
- Taking CBD oil sublingually/ under the tongue
- Ingesting CBD through edibles
- Inhaling CBD through vaping
- Applying CBD to the skin topically
- Using CBD suppositories vaginally or anally
How to use Endoca CBD oil depends on your chosen method. For more information, be sure to read our resource on how to take CBD oil.
What is the best way to take CBD oil?
The best way to take CBD oil depends on the individual. For example, if you’re after a quick and effective way to take CBD oil that can be done anytime, anywhere, then taking CBD oil under the tongue could be the best method for you.
However, if you don’t like the taste of hemp and want an easier way to see how many milligrams of CBD you’re taking, swallowing CBD capsules could be the best way to take CBD.
Alternatively, if you want to avoid digestion completely (or have isolated pain for example), then applying CBD skin care or using CBD suppositories could arguably be the best method for you. To see the best way to take CBD depending on your preferences, read our guide on how to take CBD oil.
How to take CBD tincture
CBD tincture can be placed under the tongue using the dropper provided (like CBD oil).
CBD tinctures are typically liquid extracts of hemp combined with either vegetable glycerin (VG), alcohol or oil. In fact, the word ‘tincture’ is used to describe any form of medication that is kept in an alcohol solution.
C02-extracted CBD oils tend to provide a safer and cleaner way to use CBD products. This is because these types of extracts leave no risk of residual solvents and other impurities.
However, CBD tincture oil is another fantastic way to use CBD extracts if CBD oils are hard to find. As with CBD oil, CBD tincture can bypass digestion if taken sublingually and so reach the bloodstream much faster than other methods.
Is CBD oil/ hemp oil illegal?
CBD oil, as long as it is extracted from hemp, is legal in most countries worldwide, as it contains low levels of THC (0.2%). This is the compound that gets you high, and that is illegal in most countries. Hemp is considered a controlled substance but can be used in skincare items, natural beauty products, clothing and cooking ingredients. Find out more about the legal status of CBD in 2018.
Products and Definitions
What does CBD stand for?
CBD stands for cannabidiol – one of over 100 natural cannabinoids found in cannabis sativa (one of the Latin names for this type of cannabis). It has a variety of health benefits, is legal in most countries, non-toxic and completely non-psychoactive.
What is hemp oil?
Hemp oil is simply another word used for CBD oil, as both are terms to mean cannabis extracts. But be aware that there is also a huge misunderstanding about the difference between hemp seed oil and hemp oil, with many people believing they are the same.
Hemp seed oil is derived purely from hemp seeds, and is used in food preparation but does not contain CBD or any other cannabinoids.
Find out more in our ‘What is CBD?’ guide.
What is medical cannabis/ medical marijuana?
Medical cannabis, or medical marijuana, can refer to the use of cannabis to treat disease or improve symptoms. However, there is no single agreed-upon definition. Mostly, this term is used to define plants that contain high amounts of THC, but it is becoming more complicated to define what it is, due to the fact that we have recently found a lot of cannabis plants with many other molecules.
Medical cannabis/ medical marijuana is a word used very frequently in the thousands of medical cannabis shops in the USA where they sell cannabis plants legally under state law. Most of the medical cannabis/ medical marijuana is sold for recreational purposes. Very few cannabis products on the market have been through any clinical trials. Unfortunately, the trials that have taken place are very small with inconclusive results.
Does cannabis/hemp have any other names?
Yes, it has a lot of slang names such as;
- Marijuana
- Pot
- Weed
- Grass
- Ganja
- Dope
- Herb
- Reefer
- Skunk
What is a synthase?
A synthase is an enzyme which catalyses the linking together of two molecules.
What is the endocannabinoid system?
The endocannabinoid system is a homeostatic regulator of neuronal activity and almost every other physiological system in the body. It has a regulatory role on pain, inflammation, memory, emotion, sleep and metabolic function.
It comprises a vast network of receptors in the brain, central and peripheral nervous system and cannabis-like compounds called endocannabinoids.
It has been likened to a dimmer switch, constantly working to bring balance when there is too much or too little activity in the body.
Plant cannabinoids like CBD and THC interact with the endocannabinoid system, which researchers believe may explain some of the reported physiological effects of the cannabis plant.
Scientists also believe that when this system isn’t working correctly, diseases can occur. This is known as Endocannabinoid Deficiency and could be at the root of many conditions such as migraines, fibromyalgia, IBS and multiple sclerosis.
Recent research has demonstrated that active compounds from other plants species such as carrot (Daucus carota), kava (Piper methyscum), New Zealand liverwort (Radula marginata), ginger (Zingiber officinale) and black pepper (Piper nigrum) contain compounds which interact with the endocannabinoid system.
What is cannabidiolic acid (CBDa)?
CBDa is the acidic precursor of CBD. That means if you took some freshly harvested hemp plants, they would contain mostly CBDa and only a little CBD. It’s through the drying and heating process that CBDa turns into CBD (Cannabidiol).
What is tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCa)?
THCa is the acidic precursor of THC. That means if you took some freshly harvested cannabis plants, they would contain mostly THCa and only a little THC. It’s through the drying and heating process that THCa turns into THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol).
What is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)?
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the cannabinoid found most in abundance in the cannabis plant. It has a psychoactive effect, hence plant varieties that have been bred for recreational use are particularly high in THC.
That is not to say that THC doesn’t have any therapeutic use. It has been found to be effective for reducing nausea and vomiting experienced by patients during chemotherapy, can slow down the progression of glaucoma and help reduce nerve pain.
What does the CBD oil/ hemp oil contain?
CBD, Chlorophyll, Alkanes, Nitrogenous compounds, Amino acids, Sugars, Aldehydes, Alcohols, Ketones, Flavonoids, Glycosides, Vitamins and Pigments.
We have found out that cannabis/hemp contains over 400 molecules – and in recent research we have discovered there are a group of molecules that cannabis produces called cannabinoids, which are mostly responsible for its effects. There are over 120 cannabinoids including CBD, THC, CBG, CBC and CBN.
A famous cannabinoid is THC, which is psychoactive and responsible for the high. However, at Endoca we produce products with a high concentration of the cannabinoid CBD – which does not give the high.
Does Endoca hemp seed oil contain CBD (Cannabidiol)?
Yes, 300mg CBD Cannabidiol.
Does Endoca CBD oil/ hemp oil contain THC?
We have been working hard on finding the cannabis/hemp strains containing high concentrations of CBD, other cannabinoids and untraceable amounts of THC.
Does hemp oil contain CBD?
Our Endoca hemp oil contains CBD. This is because our hemp oil is made from the hemp plant – which is naturally abundant in CBD (one of over 100 compounds found in cannabis plants).
The definition of ‘hemp’ is typically used for cannabis strains that are high in CBD, low in THC strains (the natural compound that makes you high). Our hemp oil has plenty of CBD and very minute levels of THC (around 0.2 percent). Our CBD hemp oil is 100% legal and 100% non-psychoactive.
What are CBD edibles?
CBD edibles are edible products that are infused with CBD, such as CBD chewing gum.
Comparisons
What is the difference between cannabis, marijuana and hemp?
All are actually cannabis plants. However, hemp or industrial hemp is a term commonly used for cannabis strains that contain very low levels of THC – to be precise below 0.2% THC. Marijuana, in general, is a word used for plants that contain high amounts of THC.
Our grandfathers did not know anything about THC (that it is psychoactive) and were just growing cannabis and calling it hemp. It’s only in modern times that the definition of hemp means low levels of THC.
On street level, when a cannabis plant is analyzed it’s found to contain 1%-22% THC. Cannabis products can even contain up to 98% THC.
CBD oil vs hemp oil: what’s the difference?
Although CBD oil and hemp oil are sometimes used interchangeably, there is a difference.
- Hemp oil is technically any oil that is derived from the hemp plant
- CBD oil is an oil that contains the compound CBD (cannabidiol). The compound itself is extracted from the cannabis or hemp plant and used to create an oil.
Typically, CBD oils derived from hemp have low levels of THC. But, it’s worth noting that ‘CBD oil’ may also be referred to as ‘CBD hemp oil’. This is when the CBD oil has been taken from the hemp plant exclusively. When the CBD oil has been extracted from the plant and contains other plant compounds this is known as ‘whole plant’ CBD oil, or full spectrum CBD oil. To find out more, read our resource about CBD.
CBD vs CBDa: what’s the difference?
The difference between CBD and CBDa is down to their natural state. CBDa turns into CBD when heated.
- CBD (cannabidiol) is a wonderful natural botanical compound found in the hemp plant. It is made when heat is applied to CBDa (changing its molecular structure). This is known as the decarboxylation process and can naturally occur in the growing process.
- CBDa is the acidic precursor (or raw state) of CBD. When the hemp plant (cannabis sativa) is in its natural state, it produces CBDa first – and only after heating or ageing under the sun does the CBDa transform into CBD. Products such as our Raw Hemp Oil Drops allow you to get the health benefits of the hemp plant as nature intended.
CBD vs THC: what’s the difference?
CBD and THC are both natural compounds found in the cannabis plant referred to as cannabinoids – or better yet, phytocannabinoids (meaning cannabinoids found in plants). Despite this similarity, they’re different in the following ways:
- CBD is not psychotropic and therefore will not make you high, whereas THC is – and will create that euphoric effect
- THC interacts with our CB1 receptor, whereas CBD’s mechanism of action focuses on our CB2 receptor
- THC has a high-binding affinity for our CB1 receptor, meaning it fits perfectly into this receptor site. CBD has a low binding affinity for our CB2 receptors, preferring to regulate the release of our naturally produced endocannabinoids like Anandamide, which have high binding affinity for our CB2 receptors
- CBD is abundant in hemp, while THC dominates in other types of cannabis
- Hemp-derived CBD products are legal in most countries, whereas THC is not
For more information, read our resource on CBD vs THC.
CBD vs CBN: what’s the difference?
CBD stands for cannabidiol while CBN stands for cannabinol. Both are natural
cannabinoids that come from the cannabis plant. However, whereas CBD is more
naturally abundant in the plant, CBN is less common and is converted from THC
molecules. It only appears after oxidation.
Effects
How does CBD work?
There are some scientific experiments that indicate that cannabinoids work in a similar way to the endocannabinoids that the human body already produces in healthy people. The mechanisms of action are still not clarified and there are no conclusive studies that show any clear pathways.

How does CBD make you feel?
Many people report that CBD makes them feel relaxed and calm. It does not make you feel ‘high’ as it is non-psychotropic. Check out our resource on the effects of CBD.
What does CBD do to you?
In the results of our ongoing survey, many people who are currently using CBD products claim that CBD makes them feel calmer and more relaxed. However, it’s hard to determine what CBD will do to you as an individual exactly as CBD affects each one of us differently. Can cannabis cause allergic reactions?
Just like pollen from trees, grasses or weeds, marijuana pollen may trigger allergic reactions in a very small minority of people. This subject has not been studied in depth, but there are scientific divs and studies that point to allergic reactions caused by cannabis.
If you choose a product that is GMP certified you minimize the risk of contamination with allergens. Endoca offers the finest quality cannabis extracts on the market as it is GMP certified. This means that our products contain no hazardous chemicals that can cause an allergic reaction.
Why can cannabis cause allergic reactions?
Cannabis contains over 400 different molecules: Phytocannabinoids, Terpenes, Chlorophyll, Alkanes, Nitrogenous compounds, Amino acids, Sugars, Aldehydes, Alcohols, Ketones, Flavonoids, Glycosides, Vitamins, Pigments and Water.
In rare cases, individuals may be allergic to certain natural compounds. For example, terpenes are molecules that are in many foods and cosmetics and are known to trigger allergic reactions in a very small percentage of people. However, if you suffer from this rare allergy, it is extremely likely that you will already be aware of it.
Are there many people allergic to cannabis?
From the knowledge available, we can conclude that allergy symptoms have only occasionally been reported as one of the adverse health effects of cannabis use. There has been a call for more controlled studies to determine the mechanisms behind these rare adverse reactions.
What do scientific studies indicate?
There are studies specifically investigating exposure to pollen, cannabis extracts and the act of smoking cannabis that indicate that there can be adverse reactions. On the other hand, there have also been studies showing that cannabis can be used to combat allergies. As we can see, the evidence is confusing but at least conclusive in one sense: marijuana allergies not related to broad-spectrum pollen allergy are extremely rare.
Why does cannabis combat allergies and at same time provoke allergies?
When cannabis is smoked, the process of heating and burning the herb causes changes to happen to the molecules it contains. These molecules are not normally found in the plant, and in their altered state, they can cause allergic reactions.
In addition, poor indoor growing conditions and the use of pesticides, or the incorrect harvesting and curing of the herbal cannabis can cause it to become moldy, with toxins created by the mold fungi causing potential allergic reactions. The spraying of the plant material with chemicals including dangerous artificial cannabinoids or with chemicals designed to increase mass, can cause unpleasant allergic reactions or toxicities.
Are Endoca products safe?
We treat testing very seriously here at Endoca and thus spend large amounts of our resources doing quality control. We keep our product safe and free of toxins by controlling our production process in line with Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) regulations. As a result, we are able to guarantee that our cannabis products are free from contaminations. Our product has been successfully used by over 10,000 people with huge satisfaction.
Are certified products the only way to minimize risk?
Good manufacturing practices (GMP) embraces the practices required in order to confirm the guidelines recommended by agencies that control authorization and licensing for manufacture and sale of food, drug products, and active pharmaceutical products. These guidelines provide minimum requirements that a pharmaceutical or a food product manufacturer must meet to assure that the products are of high quality and do not pose any risk to the consumer or public.
What is the solution?
First of all, use only GMP certified products. Secondly, if you are suffering from e.g. MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity) or in general have a tendency to have allergic reactions you should exercise caution.
Up-titrations are a viable solution. Start with very low doses and increase dosages slowly, monitoring yourself for any indications of an adverse reaction. For more information, read our guide to understanding CBD dosage.
Another solution is to use our 98% CBD that contains only the cannabinoid CBD and very low levels of terpenes.
Does CBD get you high?
No, CBD does not get you high. It is 100% non-psychoactive. THC is the compound that gets you high.
Endoca CBD oil contains high levels of CBD: a natural compound found in the hemp plant – a part of the cannabis family. Although THC can be present in CBD, it’s at such a low percentage that it’s not enough to get you high (0.2%). When cannabis contains high levels of THC, it has psychoactive effects that will make you high – and is commonly referred to as marijuana. Check out our About CBD page to discover more.
How does a cannabis drug test work?
THC is the cannabinoid that is targeted in drug tests. These tests look for the metabolic products of THC and begin with a simple urine test sample (for example). The test uses antibodies to detect THC and the metabolite it produces. There is no such thing as a CBD drug test because CBD is not a drug.
Can you fail a drug test due to CBD?
If drug testing is part of your profession always do your research before you start taking CBD. At Endoca, we can’t give medical, professional, or legal advice. So we advise that you always check your employer’s policy or the latest drug testing information on CBD before you take CBD products.
Most CBD products are derived from hemp, which means their THC levels will be less than the legal 0.2%.
Jobs including teachers, law enforcement officers, and government workers may be required to do mandatory drug testing at different periods during the year and some companies have a zero THC policy.
Full-spectrum CBD products derived from hemp have very low and often untraceable amounts of THC in them. However, there is still a possibility that even tiny trace amounts could show a false positive.
We advise our users to try THC free options such as Endoca CBD crystals, however, this does still carries some risk.
Please ensure you talk with your employer before taking CBD products, if you are concerned about drug testing, and don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team via the web chat icon if you have any further questions.
Does CBD have any drug Interactions?
There are no studies showing that there are any drug interactions using CBD and other drugs. However, it is wise to consult with a professional doctor if you’re planning to make dietary changes.
How long does CBD stay in your system?
It’s believed that CBD stays in your system for approximately two to five days. However, everyone is different and so the amount of time it takes for the molecule to leave your body completely depends on your body. It also depends, of course, on how much CBD oil has been taken.
What are the effects of CBD gummies and other CBD edibles?
CBD edibles have the same effects on the body as other CBD products. However, the body takes longer to feel the effects – the whole process can take around two hours or longer as the CBD has to work its way through the digestive system. However, because it’s a slow release, the effects last longer.
What are the side effects of CBD hemp oil?
Most of the potential side effects of CBD hemp oil are only minor. If you experience any of the following symptoms, it’s recommended that you lower your CDB dosage. We always recommend starting off with a low dose and gradually build up. The potential side effects of CBD hemp oil are:
- Dry mouth
- A small drop in blood pressure
- Lightheadedness
- Increased appetite
- Drowsiness
It’s important to remember that CBD hemp oil affects everyone differently, and what might happen to you might not happen to the next person. Read more about the effects of CBD here.
What does CBD do exactly?
In short, CBD helps to support our body in maintaining homeostasis. It does this by interacting with our endocannabinoid system – a hugely important system in all human and animal bodies that is involved in helping to control functions such as your mood, appetite, sleep and immune response by helping to bring about balance in our bodies. Check out our guide on the effects of CBD.
Can I use CBD with my medication?
It’s important to remember that while CBD is safe for you to use, it can potentially interfere with other medications. This is because of how CBD is metabolised by your body and the possibility that it can alter how your body normally metabolises your other medication.
If your medication isn’t metabolised properly, the medication might not work. Instead, it may stay in your system longer than desired, or in a form that your body doesn’t like, leading to negative side effects and potential complications. For example, taking CBD with blood thinners can maybe result in them not breaking down in your system. However, there’s a chance that CBD can make your medication more effective – so much so that you might even be able to reduce your regular medication dosage.
The trick is to ask your doctor or medical professional if you can take grapefruit with your medication. Grapefruits can also mess with the metabolism of a variety of medications, so if your doctor says no to grapefruit then you’ll have to be careful about mixing CBD with your medication. Of course, we always recommend discussing CBD with your doctor anyway – especially if you’re already taking medication. To find out more, read our resource on the potential effects of CBD.
Uses & Benefits
Will CBD oil/ hemp oil help me with my illness?
We cannot make any medical claims about CBD/ hemp oil.
It is recommended that you conduct your own research or contact your doctor.
These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.
Does cannabis have medicinal properties?
Historically, it is famous for its use as medicine. There are also many clinical trials that show some effects and there are new ongoing trials. Millions of people are using it already, claiming it helps them in one way or another. There is already medicine on the market made from cannabis that has been through clinical trials that is approved for sales. However, unfortunately, the trials that have taken place are very small with inconclusive results.
Does cannabis help people?
According to mainstream science, there is no evidence that cannabis has any positive effect on the human body. Until research has been done with many people over a long period of time, it will be very difficult to answer this question.
The cannabinoids that the cannabis plant produces are very similar to endocannabinoids produced by the human body and therefore could have huge potential in helping the body to find a balance. However, to claim anything, there is a need for large randomized, double-blind placebo trials over a very long period of time to be able to prove any positive effects.
Dosage
What is the CBD dosage for ADHD?
Here at Endoca, we believe in CBD’s fantastic potential benefits. Yet, it’s important to remember that we are not medical professionals and can not give specific dosage recommendations when it comes to certain conditions. However, we can suggest how to start using CBD if you are looking to begin your CBD journey and are unsure as to where to start.
When deciding on the CBD dosage for ADHD (or any condition for that matter), it’s important to remember that everyone has an individual ‘sweet spot’ – and there’s no ‘one size fits all’ dose. We recommend starting slow, building steadily and listening to your body. Over time, you can build upon your CBD dosage until you find the right dose. Check out our CBD Oil Dosage Guide to discover more – or head to our Endoca community group to find more specific information and read about people’s first-hand experiences with CBD.
